Subtitled 'An Illustrated History of US Naval Aviation' this is a splendidly detailed account from the service's origins at Chesapeake Bay in 1910, to its impact on today's world events. Much of the story is told in the aviator's own words - from Admiral to Airman - and it covers such topics as 'Milestones of Naval Flight', 'Incidents, Accidents and Flights of Fame', 'The Birth of the Flattop', 'War, Peace and Whirlybirds', 'The Nuclear Age' and 'The Price of Peace'.
