This War Diary traces the travels of the USS Alabama from its 1943 Spring & Summer operations in the North Atlantic and Norway with the British Home Fleet, through its journey to the Gilbert Islands in the South Pacific and the start of 18 months of operations against the Japanese up to the Battle of the Philippines. Throughout it all, a copious amount of photographs were taken; it would be surprising if any of the crew are not included at least once. There are 3 plates of drawings of the Mighty 'A' in its various incarnations at the back and also a fold-out map of travels during the 2 year period.
