I bought this in a sale for less than a dollar in New Zealand on the strength of the title and it is without doubt the best autobiography I have ever read. I'm sure no-one has ever heard of him but he has had a fascinating life being variously a salvage man, nightclub owner, soldier, newspaper editor and author. I would buy this at twice the price and be happy. Most books I enjoy, I try to pass on but I have so enjoyed this, I've kept it. I can't recommend it enough. Makes you feel like a lazy abject failure, though I'm sure that wouldn't have been his intention. (Amazon review)
