The author's experiences as a US Navy Communications Officer. He was stationed in the Southwest Pacific from the time of Pearl Harbor to the defeat of Japan. This is an unusual war story since he seldom saw any real action, so it reflects the day-to-day experiences of vast numbers of veterans who served in support positions during World War II.
