Based on the recollections of Commander C R Thompson, the personal assistant to Sir Winston Churchill 1940-45. Responsible for Churchill's numerous war-time travels. The author chronicles the Prime Minister's life, day by day, as he directed the war effort. Churchill's wartime journeys were generally undertaken under the cover title of "Colonel Warden". Foreword by Averell Harriman. Blue boards, gilt titles on spine and gilt vignette on top board which has a small light mark. Otherwise the book is a good clean copy of the first American edition.
