This is a fine account of the secret war waged in Burma, Malaya, Thailand and Vietnam by British, American and French forces at the end of World War Two. The pilot flew supply missions to spies and saboteurs using unarmed Dakotas in weather which was often violent. He does not mince his words when writing of the jealousies of the secret organisations involved and also airs his views on his own senior officers.
A vivid and frequently controversial memoir with some unexpectedly poetic touches. (Amazon review)
