1st Edition.

The Atlantic Star was the medal awarded to those who served in the Royal Navy in the Atlantic during the second world war. This book is the real story of the escorts, convoys and anti-submarine ships which protected merchant vessels and kept supplies moving across the Atlantic. It is based on personal reminiscences and first-hand accounts. The author himself served on HMS Lulworth, one of the ex-American Coast Guard Cutters assigned to the Royal Navy under the Lease Lend agreement. This is a well -written, moving and very human account of heroism and unremitting toil in the Battle of the Atlantic.
