Sinha was one of the outstanding officers of the post Independence Indian Army. He had flirted with the "Quit India" movement but, deciding to work towards "weakening the British military might from within" he was commissioned in the Jat Regiment in 1944. In WWII he served in Burma and later in Indonesia. When he was not appointed Chief of Army Staff he resigned. A furore followed. This book is a collection of relevant articles by various authors and a longer article on "Our Military Traditions" by Sinha.
