Hitler's elite, the Waffen-SS, fought in the most decisive campaign of WWII on the Eastern Front from June, 1941 until May, 1945 when Berlin fell to the Red Army. This is the story of the climactic battles when the Waffen-SS fought it's way to the gates of Moscow only to be defeated by 'Mother Winter' as had another invader in the past - Napoleon Bonaparte. It also examines the attrocities committed on the population of the conquered territories as well as the brutal actions against partisan forces by the so called Einsatzgruppen.
