An original history of SAS operations in the Persian Gulf state of Oman in the 1970s written by its Commanding Officer, Lt. Col. Tony Jeapes. The Regiment was called in to support the armed forces of the Sultan against the communist armed insurrection. They not only had to militarily defeat the insurgents but also had to win over the civilian population of the Jebel Dhofar.
