1st Edition.
As early as July 1942 Brenzett had been identified as a suitable site for an airstrip. Although temporarily used by No. 122 Squadron, whilst their own ALG was being repaired, it did not become fully operational until July 1944 and the hectic period of defensive V-1 patrols. By September 1944 this intensive period had run its course, and the squadrons departed, leaving the local villages to slowly recover from the friendly invasion and to resume their quiet existence.
