Published c.1936. Hagenbach was one of the pioneers of commercial aviation in the United States. He was a reporter on a Western newspaper who was intructed to learn how to fly so that he could get to a story quickly. He ultimately became a pilot on the Night Express run by Boeing out of Los Angeles in the 1930s.
