Shot down over France on a bombing raid in February 1944, the author was immediately takin in and hidden. Speaking French and being a radio operator, a combination badly needed by the Resistance, he was asked to join and did so. This is a young man's account of pre- and post-invasion France; being both grim and humorous, it gives a vivid insight into life with the partisans.
