June, 1944 was one of the most important months of WWII. The victory at Cassino and the liberation of Rome, the Allied landings in Normandy, the Soviet offensive in Belorussia and the destruction of Army Group Centre, the Japanese offensive in Burma and its defeat, the invasion of Saipan and the Battle of the Phillipine Sea in the Pacific all took place in that "Month of Victories" for the Allies.
