During the darkest days of the war, Great Britain fought on alone against the tyranny of Nazi Germany, and the only way in which we could take the fight to the enemy was through the brave men of Bomber Command. The detailed account of every sortie undertaken by 158 from its formation in February 1942 to its disbanding in 1945 is given in the form of the squadron diary. It is factual, unemotional and clearly presented but underlying is a deep regard for what these young men achieved - nothing less than the democracy and freedom we enjoy today. One of the most important books to come out of WW2 but unfortunately out of print for 45 years and difficult to find.
