AND HOW SHE RE-UNITED HER WAR SCATTERED FAMILY. Born near the Lithuanian Border it tells how, as a young girl she met Hitler and how the SS repeatedly searched their home. As a medical student she cared for wounded soldiers returning from the Russian Battlefields. Alone she joined the refugee treks of 1944/45 fleeing over land and frozen lakes trying to avoid the advancing Russian army. When the war ended Helga travelled the dangerous road south searching for her family. Finally they are reunited and their dream of returning to Switzerland is fulfilled.
