The experiences of four men of different nationalities caught up in WWII. Antonio Benetti - an Italian Ski Commando, Helmut Steiner - a German Tank Driver, Odell Dobson - an American Air Gunner and George Paine - a British Paratrooper. Each of them told their stories to Bruce Lewis who has skilfully managed to preserve the idiosyncrasies of their contrasting cultures and backgrounds.
