This is the outstanding story of a Royal Air Force Volunteer Reservist who flew during the Battle of Britain and kept an exciting day-to-day diary of his experiences. Later shot down over France, he evaded capture and made his way home through Spain and Gibraltar. Later he was posted to the Middle East and killed over El Alamein.

Foreword by Marshal of the RAF Sir John Grandy GCB, KBE, DSO.
