This is a splendid record and celebration of fighter pilots of many nations, from World War 1 to today. The author examines the reality behind the myths and considers the way that the media glamorised the image of the fighter pilot. He surveys the skills needed and relates the history of some of the aircraft mounts of the great aces. A treasure trove of material for those interested in the history of war and aviation.
