One of the "Harleyford" series, includes every RAF squadron badge up to 1955. With detailed illustrations of aircraft insignia and camouflage including a selection of US and Axis markings.
This, the 6th Edition is broadly as the first (except for an increase od 180% in the retail price to 70/-!), but with newend-leaf descriptions, and an amended Preface. Also, the Warhawk on the cover has been coloured and the rear cover advert is different.
This book was the bible for model-makers when I was a boy, which is to say the 50's & 60's. It's an absolute goldmine of information on, and pictures in colour of, almost any military aircraft you could think of — and it gave special attention to unusual markings.
